How to read this map
Every neighbourhood is graded from A to G on access per kilowatt-hour, the everyday access it provides for the energy its households use. Each band held one seventh of England's households in 2021, and the thresholds are frozen, so a grade changes only when the underlying quantities change.
Click any area to see its grade and the quantities behind it. The levers apply insulation, heat pumps and electric vehicles at any uptake and re-grade the map. They change only energy use; access stays the same, because the levers do not move any destinations.

Top: status quo. Bottom: full deployment of insulation, heat pumps and electric vehicles. Access does not change in either case.
